History of NTPC
NTPC was incorporated on 7 November 1975 as a power generating company. On 19 March 1976, Shri D.V. Kapoor became the first Chairman and Managing Director of NTPC. On 8 December 1976, the government approved the first project of NTPC Thermal Power Project in Singrauli, Uttar Pradesh, in 1997 it was given the status of Navratna Company. In 2004 it became a listed company and in 2005 it was renamed as NTPC Limited.
NPTC Full Form
NTPC has a full form National Thermal Power Corporation. It is called National Thermal Power Corporation in Hindi. NTPC is an Indian public sector company headquartered in New Delhi. It was established to speed up power generation in the country. NTPC is India's largest thermal power generating company in terms of installed capacity and production. NTPC has also been listed on the National Stock Exchange NSE and the Bombay Stock Exchange BSE.
Apart from generating electricity, NTPC is also actively involved in coal mining, power trading, equipment manufacturing, renewable energy and power distribution etc. It also provides consultancy services related to power plant construction or power generation and performs turnkey projects for domestic and international customers.

Because the qualification of recruitments for NTPC has been kept separately by the Railway Board. NTPC Recruitment 2020
NTPC will select the candidates on the basis of their GATE Score 2020. Candidates can apply online for the post of ET 2020 after getting their GATE 2020 Registration Number and ID. NTPC GATE 2020 Recruitment will be done on NTPC official website www.ntpccareer.net from 10 January to 31 January 2020.
